About Joanna

My path has never been a straight line. It's a blend of passion, necessity, and the realization that my greatest strengths lie at the intersection of two different worlds.

Joanna Petersen

I've always been multifaceted, driven by curiosity and a constant pull toward learning how things work. This led me down two seemingly separate paths.

From a young age, I was a natural-born artist, always driven by a love for drawing animals. This passion grew into creating custom pet portraits. Seeing the impact the work had on my clients showed me just how meaningful it could be. I realized these weren't just drawings — they captured connection, memory, and emotion in a way that often brought both joy and tears.

At the same time, another skill was developing out of necessity. Growing up in a chaotic environment with an ADHD diagnosis and a parent with hoarding tendencies, I developed organization skills as a coping mechanism to create my own sense of calm and control. It was never about perfection — it was about making life function.

I began my professional organizing work in 2015, supporting clients across Southern Ontario. I served on the Executive of the Professional Organizers of Canada (POC), earned a Specialist Certificate in Workplace Productivity through the National Association of Productivity and Organizing (NAPO), and furthered my knowledge in brain-based organization through the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD).

But for years, I struggled to reconcile these two sides of myself. Art is my core, while organizing is how I navigate the world. The practical challenge of trying to manage two completely separate business entities felt overwhelming. I believed I had to choose one over the other, which kept me stuck in analysis paralysis, constantly flipping between both because I couldn't fully let go of either.

Eventually, I realized the conflict itself was the answer. My true strength wasn't in picking a path, but in combining them. My identity as an artist gives me true empathy for the creative mind, and my expertise in organizing provides the exact tools to clear the path for that mind to work. Now, I bring both sides of my expertise together to become unapologetically myself.

My mission is to help other creative professionals build functional spaces and systems that support their work. I want to help you stop fighting your environment and start building a business that gives you more time and energy for what you love.

Outside of art and organizing, my other great love is martial arts. I have dabbled in multiple arts and weapons training, am a black belt in Combat Hapkido, and trained for the top level in kickboxing. I'm also fascinated by the unknown, and you can usually find me diving down a good rabbit hole, often with my cat, Charlie, somewhere nearby.
